Kids in the Kitchen
…. classes from children from age 6 – 16

A fun
couple of hours spent in the
kitchen. Kids roll up their sleeves
and don an apron to help not only prepare supper but lay the table and serve the meal to the guests of honour; proud
parents who can attend the graduation dinner!
We’ll start by taking a walk in the garden to identify and gather fresh herbs. It’s hands on with everyone helping to
master the basics of Italian foods;
pizza, pasta, putting together a salad, whipping up tiramisu or making
‘gelato’ and decorating with fruits
& vegetables. It’s a
wonderful experience not only to learn team work skills but also a cultural
experience to be with an Italian too.
What the kids have to say…
I
thought the cookery class was excellent, I especially enjoyed collecting the
herbs, cutting the pasta and oiling the chicken. It was fun serving our parents… and eating the food too.

The cooking class was great and we learnt some delicious Italian food… Giorgio was patient and very funny and to top it all we even learnt how to lay a table and how to serve wine

We
learnt the Italian names for the foods,
I got to do the melon, tomato, bread and mozzarella. The food was fun to make and yummy, we made pasta, pizza and pannacotta. The laying of the table was not so fun but
someone had to do it!

…
and all the little things we were shown; arranging cutlery and napkins were
amusing. Very helpful were the tips on
wine serving.

Thank
you very much for the lesson! My
favourite part was making the pasta and I loved the certificates you gave us.
